Care Instructions for Organic Textiles Bed Sheets
(Bamboo • Tencel • Organic Cotton)
Thank you for choosing Organic Textiles bedding. Our natural linens are crafted for softness, breathability, and long-lasting comfort. With proper care, you can preserve their luxurious qualities for years to come.
Washing
-
Pre-wash before first use to soften fibers and remove any natural residues.
-
Wash separately from polyester or heavy items (like jeans or garments with zippers) to avoid pilling and fabric damage.
-
Avoid overloading the machine—excessive abrasion shortens fabric life.
-
Use cold water (or warm for heavily soiled linens) on a gentle cycle with a cold rinse.
Detergent
-
Use a mild, non-alkaline liquid detergent free from bleach or whiteners.
-
Never pour detergent directly on linens—add it as the wash tub fills, or dilute first.
-
Unless heavily soiled, use half the recommended detergent amount to prevent residue buildup.
Bleaching
-
Do not use chlorine bleach, as it weakens fibers and causes yellowing.
-
If needed, use an oxygen-based bleach for white fabrics.
Drying
-
Line drying is recommended to best preserve fiber strength.
-
If machine drying, tumble dry on low heat only. Remove linens while still slightly damp to prevent wrinkles.
-
Never use high heat or over-dry, which can shrink and damage fibers.
-
Smooth, fold, or press with a warm iron if desired.
Chemical Considerations
-
Be mindful of skin and hair products (like acne lotions or toothpastes with oxidizing agents), which may cause discoloration or pilling.
-
For natural whitening, use distilled white vinegar—its mild acidity refreshes fabrics without harm.
Storage
-
Store linens in a cool, dry, well-ventilated space.
-
For long-term storage, wrap in white cotton fabric or acid-free paper.
-
Avoid plastic bags or boxes, which can trap moisture and cause yellowing.
✅ Tip: Rotate your sheet sets regularly to extend their life and maintain even wear.
